A simple and divine berry sauce that can be used as a rockin’ addition to pancakes, crepes, smoothie bowls, chia puddings, and more like topping on your favourite dessert! Paleo-friendly and extremely versatile!
Ingredients:
1 cup mixed frozen berries
1 cup fresh strawberries, rinsed, tops removed & halved
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder
Let’s do this:
Put all ingredients into a small saucepan on medium heat.
Once it begins to simmer, reduce heat to low and gently simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and store in a glass jar in the fridge.
If you want to make it into more of a Couli, then all you have to do is strain the berries through a fine sieve to remove all the berry seeds after it’s cooked, and you’ll be left with a beautiful smooth sauce. Personally, I don’t mind the seeds, it depends how much time you have and the texture you want!
