A paleo raw food wonder-drink, super soft & fluffy! You don’t need to be paleo to enjoy this of course! Salted caramel is seriously the best thing in the world next to bacon (sorry veggie peeps, you know I love my bacon, don’t hold it against me).
1/2 frozen banana
1 tbsp cashew spread
2- 3 medjool dates, seeds removed
1/3 cup coconut milk
1/3 cup almond milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of fine himalayan salt or sea salt
2 ice cubes
1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup (depending on your dietary requirements you can use other sweeteners like rice malt, agave or xylitol… you can even omit this if you want to be extra good!)
I kick myself every time I make this. Because cold drinks and I don’t mix – I have the potential to sneeze for hours. If I wait for it to cool down then I don’t have a problem… But its soooooo hard to wait for this. Do you know how difficult it is to have a silly sinus problem with such a full on reaction to cold drinks, and be in love with salted caramel shakes at the same time? It’s like a mind-collision. This smoothie is beyond amazing.
Raw, paleo-friendly, dairy-free, soy-free, all the good things.
Let’s do this:
Put all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth & silky, stopping once or twice to scrape down the sides.
Here’s how to make it into a Salted Caramel Cloud: Keep blending. If you blend this for a few minutes, it becomes an amazingly fluffy cloud-like consistency! Just keep blending, blending blending.
