Salted Caramel Protein Balls – Dairy-free & gluten-free raw snack deliciousness!

Did someone say salted caramel?! There’s lots of dates in this recipe plus a couple of spoons of honey, which makes them an extra-special treat! Adjust the amount of dates & honey to your needs & taste preferences 🙂


1 cup raw cashews
1/2 cup desiccated coconut (preservative free)
6 tbsp vanilla protein powder (I use either Amazonia Raw Vanilla Protein, or Passion Projects Vanilla Pea Protein)
1/2 cup almond meal/flour
7-10 large medjool dates, seeds removes
1/3 tsp himalayan salt
2 1/2 tbsp raw honey
Plus and extra 1/2 cup fine desiccated coconut for rolling the balls in

Salted caramel ANYTHING has my ears prick up. But salted caramel protein balls – something that is good for you?! Oh bring it on! These protein balls are high in protein & good fats, and are a perfect snack. They are sweet from the dates, yet the pinch of salt just makes them go BOOM! Perfect for healthy snacks that can be added to lunchboxes, or even as a dessert! Not much more to say except: put ’em in your mouth and chew ’em!

Let’s do this:

Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend well, until the mix becomes solid, well-blended and dough-like.

Form the dough into small balls and roll in the extra coconut. The mix will be oily at first, due to all the natural oils from the cashews & almond meal, but rest assured that it sets perfectly well and solid in the fridge! Keep the protein balls in the fridge and take one or two out for your lunchbox when needed. Goodness me, enjoy! x
