Chocolate Cake Smoothie – A healthy way to have your cake & drink it too!

Oh no I didn’t. Dairy-free, paleo-suitable, no added sugar or nasty stuff in sight. Chocolate cake. Chocolate CAKE. CHOCOLATE CAKE! In a Smoothie! Raw style. Oh you’re so welcome.

Chocolate Cake Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana
2 1/2 tbsp cashew spread/butter
1 – 1 1/2 tbsp cacao powder
1/3 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup almond milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1-2 ice cubes
Optional: 1 tbsp cacao nibs

It’s the cashew spread that makes this smoothie have a cakey appeal. If you want it to be even more authentic then use less almond milk – you can make it so thick that you’ll need a spoon! Often I’m so busy during the week that my smoothies have to be quick and portable, able to be consumed on the run. Now I can take Cake on the Run (… band on the run? ).

So the details of this are fairly comprehensive. Get ready for it. Are you prepared?

Put all the ingredients in your blender/smoothie maker, and…. blend. Until really silky smooth. Pour it in a glass or mason jar, sprinkle cacao nibs on top. it’s terribly difficult.

Then what do you do? Grab your smoothie and RUN & HIDE – In the house they’re smelling cake everywhere but we will never be found! Coz this baby is not worth sharing (sorry honey). xo
